What is the common denominator between those who attack democrats and proponents of Republicanism ?

the number 1 common denominator between those who attack democrats and proponents of Republicanism is

a) mko iraqies worship masoud and maryam rajavi
b) monarchists worship Reza Pahlavi, and his (grand)father
c) islamists worship this or that imam or prophet

where qualified candidates are elected to ONLY PERFORM A JOB of President (and not rule) for 4-5 years, and after that (or after a second and last term) leave office and make room for another person to do that job.

islam is barbaric, racist, sexist, and vain

islam is barbaric

5:33. The recompense of those who wage war against Allh and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.

5:38 Cut off (from the wrist joint) the (right) hand of the thief, male or female, as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allh. And Allh is AllPowerful, AllWise.

actually to be more accurate, allah is an EGOTIST, and a barbarian

islam is racist and intollerant

5:51 O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliy' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliy' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliy', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allh guides not those people who are the Zlimn (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).

islam is sexist, considers women as sexual objects

2:223 Your wives are a tilth [like a farmland] for you, so go to your tilth [plow your farmland] (have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will, and send (good deeds, or ask Allh to bestow upon you pious offspring) before you for your ownselves. And fear Allh, and know that you are to meet Him (in the Hereafter), and give good tidings to the believers (O Muhammad SAW).

islam condones violence against women

38:44 "And take in your hand a green branch and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath[] . Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!

at the end, the only thing islam has to offer is to send you to heaven so you can have sex with virgins. how perverted!!! and so you can stuff yourself like a pig. how disgusting!

44:55 So (it will be), and We shall marry them to Houris (female fair ones) with wide, lovely eyes.

52:19 Eat and drink to your hearts' content. This is the reward of your labours.

apprently women don't get any studs or hunks when they go to heaven... seems like women are only there to please men, not the other way around.

islam is a stupid barbaric religion that was invented for the disgusting bedouins of the arabian desert. Modern humans of the 21st Century don't need such stupid ideologies.

The koran shows you how superficiall and animalistic the bedouins were. the only thing that mattered to them was to go to heaven, so they could have sex as much as they wanted, and to eat and drink like pigs as much as they wanted.

very typical fantasies for a bunch of horny and hungry barbarians living in the desert. in this world all they could do was to eat lizards, and have sex with their camels, so it is natural that their fantasy would be to go to a place ("heaven"), where they could eat real food, and have sex with real women....

This is the age of science, space, computers, art, music. Its not the arabian desert of 1400 years ago! islam is obsolete and useless. It is only good for the museum (in the bad-ideas section).

meli-mazhabies are a road-block to democracy in Iran

Many of the islamists who layed the foundations of the criminal islamic regime, have now turned away from the core of the regime, and have become the so-called "reformists". Some of them are also known by the term meli-mazhabi (religious nationalists). These groups still have not abandoned the obsolete and defunct idea that islam should play any role in politics and government. They still cling to the oxymoron of "islamic democracy".

The truely democratic groups, like Jebhe Meli (Iran National Front), are trying to work with these meli-mazhavi groups, to form a coalition against the islamic regime. Unfortunately I don't think the pro-democracy groups will get very far if they try to create alliances with "semi-damocratic" groups. having mazhab as part of one's political ideology, is JUST AS BAD as promoting monarchy. it is very unfortunate that there are still such ideological differences among Iranians. or I should rather say, it is very unfortunate that so many Iranians have still not developed enough intellectually to realize that mazhab has no place in politics. as long as there are people who cling to this notion of melli-mazhabi, they will continue to be a road-block to democracy in Iran. I don't care how hard they work to fight the IR, THEY THEMSELVES will be roadblocks and hinderences against reaching democracy.

like I said before, those who advocate democracy (or who THINK they advocate democracy) will have to embrace the mindsets which are required for having democracy in Iran:

1. absolute separation of religion from government
2. republic with checks and balances
3. rejection of superstitoin, and embracing of science
4. free market economy (with the possiblity of government subsidies for some industries, as RanjBar mentioned)

Ofcourse I understand that we have to try to work with as many people as possible to fight the IR, but as long as the people we try to work with keep going back to the same old obsolete defunct ideas that got us into this mess to begin with, we won't get very far.

Boycott Shell Oil company !

Source: MPG
Subject: Help us in defeating religious apartheid in Iran. Boycott the
oil company, Shell.
Time 07-21-2003 14:38

Please read this if you want to know how you can help bring freedom,
and secular democracy to Iran.

Even the most non-political person knows about the brutal clerics and
the worsening situation in Iran. Even if you don't read the news or
follow the scandals on international media, you have heard some news
from a relative or two. Public executions, millionaire mullahs,
prostitution and exportation of young girls, corruption, distribution
of cheap heroin, prisons full of students, serial killings, national
resources being on sale, are all currently taking place in Iran.
It is no secret that Iranians hate the Islamic regime, and sooner or
later our struggle for a secular democracy will prevail. Meanwhile we
need to declare to the world that we will not deal with people or
companies, that accept the theocratic regime.
We simply find it repulsive that European companies are subsidizing the
repression the clerics are instilling on our compatriots, all in the
name of profits. It is extremely distasteful to see the natural resource,
which belongs to all Iranians, oil, being used as a tool to suppress
our compatriots' quest for real democracy.
You may ask what a non-political person who lives outside Iran can do
to support the democratic movement in Iran.
Just like the people of the world united to defeat racial apartheid in
South Africa, we are asking the people of the world to help us in
defeating religious apartheid in Iran.
As a simple starting point, we are asking the world community to
boycott the oil company, Shell. Shell is one of the few companies, which is
doing heavy business in Iran, and selling gas in various parts of the
world, specifically the United States.
Some will try to argue that by not buying gas from Shell, you are in
fact hurting Iranians, but this is utterly false. For the last 3 years
the GDP growth has been around 5%, and it has been forecasted that the
GDP will grow another 5% this year. However looking at poverty
statistics, there are many more living in, or under the poverty
line, then there were 3 years ago. Clearly the oil money, which makes up 80%
of Iran's revenue, is not being spent on the people of Iran.
We ask ALL of you - young, old, political and non-political - to
boycott Shell and its products all over the world, in support for the fight
for freedom in Iran.
Our brave countrymen and women risking their life, fighting for a
secular democracy. Iranian democracy activists are being imprisoned,
beaten, tortured, and executed, and you can help their cause. Please
consider boycotting Shell, if not for Iran or Iranians, then for
freedom, democracy and justice.

Together we can make a difference.

Help us spread the word in anyway you can.

Shell" images.

Koran is non-scientific, and in fact anti-scientific

not only does the qoran NOT contain any information that was unknown to people outside arabia, but it also FAILS to mention facts that WERE known to others.

1. midnight sun
2. Aurora Borealis
3. snow, ice
4. American continent, and all of the plants, animals, and people who were native to that continent.

Independent inquiry must be opened into death of Zahra Kazemi

News Release Issued by the International Secretariat of Amnesty

AI INDEX: MDE 13/022/2003 15 July 2003

Iran: An independent inquiry must be opened into the death of Zahra

Amnesty International added its voice today to the calls made by Iran's
Islamic Human Rights Commission and other international human rights
organizations in calling for an independent and thorough investigation
into the death in custody of 54-year-old photojournalist Zahra Kazemi on
12 July 2003.

"Iran's obligations under international human rights treaties require
the establishment of an independent and impartial judicial inquiry to
determine the causes of Zahra Kazemi's death," Amnesty International

"Such investigation must also determine whether Zahra Kazemi was
ill-treated or tortured in custody as some reports have indicated," the
organization added.

Zahra Kazemi, who had dual Canadian and Iranian nationality, died at the
Baghiyetollah Hospital in Tehran while under guard. She was arrested for
taking photographs of people protesting against the detention of family
members outside the Evin prison in northern Tehran. Amnesty
International has documented for years cases of ill-treatment and
torture in detention.

The organization welcomed reports that President Mohammad Khatami
ordered the Ministers of the Interior, Justice, Intelligence and Culture
and Islamic Guidance to investigate Zahra Kazemi's death in custody.

"The authorities must enact concrete measures aimed at ending all forms
of ill-treatment in Iran, such as acceding to the UN Convention against
Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment,"
the organization said.

"Only a prompt, thorough, independent and impartial investigation will
serve the interests of justice."

"spirit" or "soul" are not things (they do not exist). They are phenomena (they occur)

One cannot say that consciousness or "spirit" EXISTS. consciousness and "spirit" are not material objects, and they do not have any physical existance.

Consciousness and spirit are phenomena, in otherwords, they OCCUR.

We cannot point to anything and say "this is my consciousness". Our conscioussness is a phenomenon that occurs moment by moment. In fact, our consciousness is our memory of what happened a split-second ago (as Antonio Damasio calls it, it is a "remembered present"). The brain, by virtue of its physical limitations, cannot be instantaneously aware of what occured in our environment. It takes tens or hundreds of milliseconds for our brain to analyse the input that it receives from the environment. (This environment includes our body, or inside environment).

Ok, so consciousness is a phenomenon. We use a NOUN to describe it, but that does not mean that consciousness is an actual object. Just like "running" is a NOUN, but it describes an action, not an object.

Obviously, an action, or a phenomenon, or an occurance, cease to exist once they no longer occur. Once our brain dies, it ceases to analyze what happens in its surroundings. Therefore, the phenomenon of counsciousness no longer occurs. Therefore, our "spirit" "dies". It no longer happens.

And also obviously, a "spirit" cannot "live" after we die, because a phenomenon or occurance cannot exist without somebody or something to make it happen. You cannot have "running", without a "runner". You cannot have consciousness or "spirit", without a living organism.

The brain and the mind function based on several layers of different complexity.

Layer 7Human social interactions, "spirit", morality, ethics, justice
Layer 6Extended consciousness, abstract thought, self-awareness
Layer 5Mental states, memories, emotions, low-level consciousness
Layer 4Brain regions and nuclei. Specialized processing and functions (ex. visual cortex)
Layer 3Neuronal interconnections and circuits. Neural network computations.
Layer 2Neurons and neuronal computations
Layer 1Biochemical, Biophysical processes. Action potentials, Neurotransmitters.

One cannot ask "why is your electrochemical processes more morally justified than someone else's". Electrochemical processes perform their function at the lowest layers of brain's functionality. Ethics, morality, justice, exist at the highest layers, NOT at the lowest layers. Therefore, the ethics and morality of human actions cannot be judged based on electrochemical processes. I cannot say that "my electrochemical processes are better than yours", because the concepts of good, bad, morality, ethics DO NOT EXISTS at the lowest layers of brain function !

I used a 7 layer model arbitrarily. One could make a 10 layer model if one wanted to. I did this in order to make an analogy with the 7 layers of the OSI model for the internet. The Application layer of the internet is analogous to morality, ethics, "spirit", and the Physical layer of the internet is analogous to the neurochemical and physical processes.

OSI internet model:

7: Application
6: Presentation
5: Session
4: Transport
3: Network
2: Data Link
1: Physical
